We are recruiting for a leading company developing key software for the Energy and Utilities Industry who is looking for a Proposal/Inside Sales Manager. The position will be responsible for managing the Inside Sales team/proposal team (ISP Team) and will involving working directly with the outside sales leaders and their respective teams.
 

The successful candidate must have:

 
  • Bachelor in Business Administration/Marketing/Communications is preferred
  • Experience in selling software products and services in a competitive market
  • Minimum five years of experience in leading a proposal team is required
  • Utility industry knowledge and experience with SCADA, Outage management Systems (OMS), and Distribution Management Systems (DMS) is an asset
  • Spanish speaking/writing capabilities
  • Successful consultative, solution selling and sales management experience
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management software: Salesforce.com
  • Experience work with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills are required.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, including coaching, performance and career development
 

The position will also be required to:

  • Responsible for managing and coaching the ISP team and working closely with the outside sales team.
  • Effectively managing the proposal process to deliver the organization’s sales objectives.
  • Responsible for leading the responses for request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP), bid/no bid processes, win strategy development, proposal management, strategic pricing, terms and condition review, and contract management
  • Implement improvements (e.g. processes, resources, infrastructure, and best practices) to enhance the ISP team capability to respond to more complex sales opportunities (higher $ value, prime/sub, etc.)
  • Forecast and manage the workload of the ISP team ensuring all activities are tracked, measured and reported on.
  • Manage day-to day activities of the ISP team to ensure that it is operating efficiently and successfully including: assigning and reviewing work, coaching, training, motivating and evaluating performance.
  • Collaborate and support the Canadian, US, and International outside sales teams’ business objectives to develop their win strategies
  • Effective cooperation with other departments: project delivery, product management, software development, and customer support
  • Responsible for overall bid process, including solution architecture, technical write-ups, editing content, managing responses, facilitating strategy sessions, maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversee content development for RFIs and RFPs, including solution overview, technical descriptions, cost estimates, pricing, and examine all sections for consistency with win strategy.
  • Establish and manage effective programs to coach, appraise and train inside sales personnel
  • Reviews inside sales team performance metrics monthly
  • Building and maintaining business relationship with our solutions partners including resell pricing of software, hardware and services.
  • Participate in internal contract review meetings to transition details of the RFP LOD and customer expectations to the operations team.
